“You have a bee on your shoulder,” Martin points out.
“Only on one shoulder,” Jane notes. “On the other, there is a wasp.”
“Have you considered squishing them?”
“The bee keeps encouraging me to do so,” Jane says, “but the wasp reminds me that the little insects are precious to God. It would be immoral, the wasp alleges, to crush their innocence and their carapaces with a single blow.”
“What’s that on your foot?”
“It’s an objectivist beetle,” Jane says. “It’s making an argument for laissez-faire capitalism. It would be more relevant to me if I weren’t currently covered in bugs.”
